Hi! I’m John Krzemien from Tucson, Arizona and I am running for MSA-Engineering Representative. I am currently a freshman majoring in mechanical engineering. Around campus I am involved in various groups such as University of Michigan Engineering Council Honors and Service committee, the Rock climbing club, and am Fletcher hall council’s treasurer. I have participated in the peer mentorship program as well as the strategy division of the solar car team. The following points outline my goals I intend to accomplish if elected as an MSA Representative. Don’t forget, Save the day, Vote John K!
- Improving the bus system: Have you ever just missed the bus and never realized it and ended up waiting outside in the cold for the next one? One of the goals I have to make this system more user-friendly is to add electronic signs at each stop displaying when the next expected bus should arrive, or if that stop is in service on the weekends or special event days. With M-Bus already in place, the times and routes running are already listed online and could be easily updated for everyone. As many students wait in buildings close to bus stops, perhaps in the union, it would be great to just run out a minute or two before the bus arrives to avoid being frozen to death and avoid wasting time.
- Expanding Entrée Plus & Meal Options: There are many restaurants around college campus that do not accept Entrée Plus. I plan to work worth administration and the local businesses like NYPD, Jimmy Johns, and Big Ten Burrito, to encourage them to accept the University’s lunch money. To aid the ongoing cry of students wanting expanded meal options, I will also look into a possible meal credit lunch system for university food providers such as Bert’s Café, Beansters, and Amer’s.
- What to Fix program input and response: It’s not cool when you have a broken chairs, sink, or even a broken door to your residence hall. As many students may or may not know, this forum, What to fix (WTF), is a medium where students can input their problems and issues. This program unfamiliar to many students and I will work to advertise and develop this program so students problems will be directed to the proper people quickly and fixed to keep the university’s campus top condition.
These points outline only a handful of things that I will restlessly pursue if elected for MSA. If you want to know more about my platform or the Michigan Action Party go to www.michiganactionparty.com or to email me at jkrez@umich.edu. Thanks!
Vote John Krzemien for MSA Engineering Representative on March 21 & 22!!!
