INTERNAL RELATIONS INITIATIVES
Internal Accountability: Create methods of evaluation for all events and projects

New Members: Creating an institutionalized practice for welcoming new members to government through new member packets for new reps and associate reps

Member Empowerment: Foster strong leaders throughout government, especially empowering committee members to take ownership projects

Office Hours: Restructure office hour requirement to have a set period of time in which a member of government will be in the office

EXTERNAL RELATIONS INITIATIVES
Collaboration: Increase efforts to collaborate with many other student groups

Centralization: Create centralized way for all campus student governments to communicate and work together

MSA/LSA-SG Communication: Facilitate meaningful discussion between MSA and LSA-SG to address issues and projects of joint interest

Transparency: Keeping the student body informed about what SG is working on through many channels including the website, a newsletter and student publications

External Accountability: Ensure that reps are communicating with their constituency and working on pertinent issues

OUTREACH INITIATIVES
Recruitment Outreach: Continue to work to increase the diversity of people and opinions on government

Administrative Outreach: Distribute information to university departments raising awareness of functions and purpose of SG

Collegiate Outreach: Communicate with student governments at other comparable universities to learn from their ideas and experiences

ACADEMIC AFFAIRS INITIATIVES
Minor Creation: Revitalize culture on the Academic Affairs Committee for lobbying for minors in departments that currently dont have them and for interdisciplinary minors that feed from many different units

Theme Semesters: Collaborate with the Center for Complex Systems on the Fall 2008 Energy Futures theme semester and with the Museum of Natural History on the Winter 2009 Astronomy theme semester to create meaningful themes and creating a framework that will continue to engage student input in these decisions

Mini-Course Expansion: Lobby for the creation and expansion of one-credit mini-courses in areas ranging from kick boxing to CPR certification

LSA Course Guide: Encourage departments to give more detailed course descriptions that include testing/grading practices, required text books, and intended audiences

Fellowship Advising: Work with the Provost's Council on Student Honors to better identify qualified students for such scholarships as the Rhodes and Marshall by encouraging personal support by faculty

Orientation: Work with ONSP and LSA Advising to improve the orientation experience for incoming students, including working on improving the resources that students receive at and before their arrival on campus

STUDENT LIFE INITIATIVES
Campus Safety: Work jointly with MSA's Campus Safety Commission on advertising the new text message alert system, preventing theft at the CCRB, and other issues of campus safety

ThisSucks@umich.edu: Publicize this resource to students and making its use more widespread on campus

Student Health: Work with UHS, CAPS and the administration to improve communication with and resources available for students
